Biography
Dr. Alraeesi is an Assistant Professor of Chemical Engineering and the Chair of the Chemical and Petroleum Engineering Department at College of Engineering, UAE University. He earned his Bachelor degree in Chemical Engineering from UAEU. He joined the university as Teaching Assistant. He earned his MSc and PhD degrees in Chemical Engineering from Colorado School of Mines, Golden, USA. Dr. Alraeesi was an active member in UAE University council in the period of February 2011 until February 2013, and recently he is in the National Faculty Development Program committee. His research interest is in inorganic palladium-based catalytic membrane reactors and Hydrogen related processes. He is teaching several courses including Engineering Thermodynamics, Physical Chemistry and Engineering Applications I & II, Introduction to Chemical Engineering, and Reactor Design, in addition to supervision and coordination of senior design projects. He served as a college coordinator for engineering thermodynamics course in the period of August 2010 until July 2014. Current research interest emphasizes on the modeling of hydrogenation reactions in the palladium-based membrane reactors. The research area extended to address the deposition of conventional catalysts on the surface of palladium membranes and consequently the impact of hydrogen permeability on the stability of catalysts.
